A lot of this is based off of what I witnessed in the Trump vs. Clinton election but, yeah, I think voting is childish. I don’t vote. I’m not going to vote. When the election comes around all that I see is people hungry to slit each other’s throats. It’s like high school or Mean Girls or something. Once every 4 years people are asked to take a look at their morals and values so that they can choose a candidate that they feel represents these things. It’s a stressful time, everyone hates each other, and there are little to no intelligent conversations regarding the topic. Families and friends fight and bicker. It’s just toddlers screaming their view points at each but no one ever really listens to what the other person has to say. I get visions of the Red Scare and 1984. I mean, really. People treat each other like shit. This isn’t really a new thing but it’s especially bad during this time. I think people vote because they like to get off on themselves. They like to think of all the ways that they are right and they like the feeling that they get when they hear a spokesperson utter a large scale plan which secretly supports their egocentric agenda. Democrat, Republican, doesn’t matter. It’s all the same. It functions like a game show or fantasy football or The BacheloBachelorette. It’s fun to see if you can pick the winner! And it feels good when you pick something and it’s right and you win. Even on the horse gambling machine games. I understand voting is important. I understand it’s a privilege and that not all countries have it. But the fact of the matter is... my vote doesn’t matter. It’s not even my vote. I’m voting for someone to vote for me. On a large scale if everyone thought like me.. yeah.. this would be a problem. I like to think in terms of opportunity cost and I also don’t believe you should vote if you’re ill informed. You especially shouldn’t vote if you’re just choosing a party because it’s the same party you voted for last year and don’t know anything about the new candidates. My vote isn’t worth me investing the time to research and participate in all this shit. Much like it wouldn’t be worth it for me to devote 100 hours of work to a homework assignment that only amounts for 0.001% of my grade. I would just not do it and get a 0 unless I thought it would impart some valuable skill. But does it even impart a valuable skill? Do you get stressed out when you have to choose a TV package but you’re not sure whether to choose Hulu or Netflix? You like shows and movies on each but you can’t have both so I guess it’s time to spend countless hours weighing the options against each other even though in 4 year it will inevitably change (at least slightly). Maybe voting and participating in the political cycle is valuable but when I see people treating each other in borderline inhumane ways that doesn’t really make me feel like I’m going to gain a lot out of the process. It seems much more cost effective to me to just realize that the rest of you can get the job done without me since I don’t have much say in the matter anyways, and just tune out to all that shit and focus on other things. I’ve adopted the “Wanna win? Don’t play” mentality. I mean I do a lot of pointless and time wasting stuff but at least it’s fun. I guess voting and politics are fun for some people but eh I dunno I mean did you walk outside during that last election? To me, voting just isn’t worth my time. I guess with all the effort, stress, and time people spend on voting and the election process I just believe that they could take all that energy and put it towards something else. Voting is important but I don’t believe the reward is worth the cost. You don’t need a cyclical 4 year national movement to take a look at your values and jerk yourself off, you can just do it every day. And you can be nice to people in the process. And really, only two candidates? I had more options at the supermarket for brands of jalapeño cream cheese. Who the fuck eats jalapeño cream cheese anyways and what do you put it on. I thought we were taught that black and white thinking is bad, limiting, and unhealthy but there it is at the core of our political process. I guess that would explain why people are so shitty to each other during that time though. Analogy time to end this rant. You are an adult in a room full of children. Each child gets a sticker and each sticker is unique. They get to put it on the red wall or the blue wall, and whichever wall has the most stickers, well, that’s going to be the color of the classroom wall for the next 4 years. Now all the kids proceed to scream and argue and fight over who’s sticker is the best and which color the classroom should be. But get this, each child thinks their sticker is the best! So it goes on and on and gets louder and louder and there are tears and people get unhappy and it really becomes just a bitch. Whether the wall is red or blue doesn’t really matter to you because I dunno you don’t really have any say over it anyways and they’re kinda the same regardless. There are other adults in the room so the children will be safe and chaperoned and things will proceed safely and as they should. So... you stickin’ around or going out to get a beer with me?

My main concern with this kind of system is how tempting it can be for impressionable minors, who are still not able to make right decisions. This can seriously have long lasting effects and a considerable "push" in developing gambling addiction and other destructive habits. While it does not give you the same gameplay advantage as in Star Wars Battlefront 2, it's important to understand that young children can not make this distinction. They see the item that is glowing in bright purple on the screen, and they want it. They want the thrill of getting a "Very Rare" item, they want to look cool in front of their online friends. This is an unethical practice, which unfortunately rarely get criticized in Rocket League or similar games. I know this is already obvious to most of you but I didn't realize how bad it was. I had taken a break for 9 months because I was busy with life. I got back recently, due to Harry Potter nostalgia, and realized I had spent $100 on this (and only gotten to year 4). I figured this time I wouldn't spend any money however. I got pleasantly surprised by being given 900+ energy as a "welcome back" token on my character and so started the Full Moon Rising quest. All that energy went into this one quest, and yet I still wasn't able to finish it in 5 days time. The last boss attributes were artificially raised so that you were forced to spend days increasing your attributes to defeat it; and then an additional 1000 coins to just defeat it because the RNG was stacked against you (tried every tactic suggested on here; the only thing that worked was RNG back). Of course, after finally defeating it, with just 2 hours left, they add a giant 8-hour timesink; forcing you to purchase more energy unless you want to redo THE ENTIRE questline. F..k. this. shit. (and f..k mobile games in general for preying on people's susceptibility to gambling). Rant over. Sorry if I sounded harsh.
