Betaloc 50 MG Tablet is a beta-blocker medication used in the management of hypertension, angina pectoris (pain in the chest caused by blockage of arteries in the heart), and irregular heart rhythm. It may also be used for prophylaxis of migraine and as an adjunctive in treating thyrotoxicosis. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age. The usual maintenance dose of metoprolol ranges from 100 mg daily to 200 mg daily, however the dose may be increased to 400 mg daily if necessary to obtain symptom control.
